Despite this mechanism's amazing powers, it can and will malfunction when exposed to dangerous stimuli like drugs and alcohol.
Most Common Drugs
Drugs disrupt the normal function fo the body by targeting the body's control center, the nervous system. Most of the drugs listed here affect the release of the neurotransmitters and disrupts messages, which change a person's way of thinking, feeling, and behaving. This is because drugs can either mimic neurotransmitters, block the transport proteins that take up the neurotransmitters, or bind to the neighboring neuron. All of these result in an increased release of neurotransmitters, which causes several psychological and physical damage to the brain and the entire body.

Here's a Recommendation
ilegal drugs are illegal for a reason: they are extremely caustic and will affect your body in a negative way. These drugs, like nicotine and heroin, have no benefit towards one’s health and only damages and disrupts their body functions. But, some drugs are necessary to treat certain illnesses or to relieve pain (prescription drugs). However, once these drugs are abused and used in large quantities (overdose), they could have deadly effects on the body such as the ones listed above. So, when using prescription drugs, take what is strictly on the label, and no more. Overdosage of drugs kills 32,000 people every year! Just remember, not all drugs are bad; it’s how you use it. (Except for the illegal drugs, which must never be used, hence, the name ILLEGAL.)
